The HTTA is an independent association of people interested in Town Twinning.
Who try to facilitate good relationships between the people, businesses and councils of the towns we are twinned with.
Each twinning arrangement is different depending on the needs and wishes of the participants. For our Czech town, it is very much an exploration of what our existing school, health and civic organisations can do for each other. Our French town has interests in assisting the young through sporting links and sporting festivals. Both towns nurture contact between our schools and colleges, commonly via email, to exchange ideas and information about our own cultures.
Periodically visits are arranged to enhance these links and to cement the bond between the parties.
We maintain a list of interested persons and send periodic News Letters and offers to those persons, encompassing specific information on twinning or of more general news gleaned from the media on the subject.
There is no mandatory expense nor membership fees. Only the opportunity to have a more real cross cultural experiemce, than perhaps a holiday alone can provide.
